Four ways to do it

We choose together at your appointment, and your skin type does most of the choosing.

Powder brows, untreated brow on the left and the healed result on the right BeforeAfter

Powder

Soft, even fill from front to tail. Reads like brow powder applied well, and holds better than strokes on every skin type.

Best forOily skin, and anyone who fills them in daily.

Ombre brows, untreated brow on the left and the healed result on the right BeforeAfter

Ombre

Powder with a gradient — light at the front, deeper towards the tail. The fade is what stops a filled brow looking drawn on.

Best forDefinition that still lifts the eye.

Nano hair stroke brows, untreated brow on the left and the healed result on the right BeforeAfter

Nano Hair Stroke

Individual strokes drawn with a single fine needle, following the direction your own hair grows. The most natural of the four up close.

Best forNormal to dry skin with hair to build on.

Combination brows, untreated brow on the left and the healed result on the right BeforeAfter

Combination

Strokes at the front where the brow should look wispy, shading through the body and tail where it needs weight. The two techniques in one brow.

Best forMost people, and the usual answer on oily skin that still wants texture.

Also: brow lamination with wax and tint, if you have enough hair and want shape without pigment. And correction or removal, if someone else's work is in the way.

Colour

Mixed to your hair,
not to a chart

Brow pigment is where warm and cool go wrong most visibly — the wrong undertone heals red or grey and stays that way for a year. So I mix against your hair and your skin and swatch it before I start.

If you color your hair, tell me what you do and how often. It changes the mix.

The appointment

What actually happens

Two to three hours. One client, no assistant.

  1. We talk first

What you want, how oily your skin runs, and anything in your history that would mean waiting.

  2. Shape mapped and agreed

Measured against your features and drawn on before any needle. Nothing starts until you say yes in the mirror.

  3. Colour mixed and swatched

Matched to your hair and skin, adjusted in the studio light. You approve the shade too.

  4. Numbing, then the work

Topical before and during. Single-use needles, sealed pigment, disinfection between clients.

  5. Aftercare, out loud

I take you through the week before you leave, and you go home with it written down.

Healing

They get darker before they get right

Read this before you book, not on day three.

Days 1–3
Much darker and sharper than your result. This is the stage people photograph and panic about.
Days 4–10
Flaking. Let it come off on its own — picking is what leaves a gap.
Weeks 2–3
They look faint and patchy. Pigment is still surfacing. Everyone goes through this.
Weeks 4–6
Colour settles into its true shade. This is when we judge it and book a top-up if you need one.

The first ten days

  • Keep them dry for the first few days — no water directly on the brows.
  • Use the balm I give you, thin and only as told.
  • Do not pick, scrub or exfoliate the area.
  • Sleep on your back if you can. Fresh brows and a pillow do not mix.

Skip for now

  • Sweating, gym, sauna and pools for about a week.
  • Makeup on the brows until they have finished flaking.
  • Direct sun — and SPF on them once healed, it is what keeps the color.
  • Retinol, acids, peels and lasers near the brow.

FAQ

Brow questions I get most

Does it hurt?

Brows are the easiest of the three areas I work on. Most clients call it scratchy rather than painful, and numbing goes on before and during.

Powder, nano or combination — which do I need?

Your skin decides more than you do. Oily skin blurs fine strokes over time, so it gets powder or combination. Normal to dry skin with some hair can carry nano. I tell you honestly at the consult, including when the one you asked for is the wrong one.

How long does it last?

One to three years for powder and combination, usually less for nano strokes because fine lines soften first. Oily skin, sun and retinol all shorten it.

Will I need a second session?

Usually yes. The first session builds the shape, the top-up at four to six weeks corrects what your skin did not keep. Plan for two appointments rather than one.

Is this microblading?

No. Microblading cuts strokes with a hand blade. I work with a machine, which is gentler on the skin and holds better — nano strokes give the same hair effect without the blade.

Will they look drawn on?

Not if the shape is mapped to your face and the color is mixed to your hair. The first three days look bolder than the result, which is where that fear usually comes from.

I already have old brow tattoo. Can it be fixed?

Often, but it depends how dark, how deep and what color it has turned. Sometimes I work over it, sometimes it has to be lightened first. Send a daylight photo and I will tell you which before you book.

What does it cost?

Pricing lives in Square, where you also book, so what you see is today's price including any promotion. Correction work is quoted after I have seen your brows.
